GRC Tutoring Lab to Start Up by end of Week 3 • Tutors Wanted

If you anticipating needing assistance with your GRC projects, or if you would be interested in helping others in their course workout, then these details should be of interest to you.

TUTORING LAB
Last semester was the first time in many years that the program was able to provide tutors to assist students in the GRC Program.

When the lab opens there will be an announcement will be posted and passed on to your instructors.

TUTORS
For now, we are looking for a tutor or two.

Basically, information about becoming a tutor are found here: www.csn.edu/pages/3770.asp

Here is a summary of the procedure:

  • Fill out  the tutorial application (download it here) or pick up an application at any CSN Tutorial Services desk. Information on locations and hours are found here
  •  Obtain a written reference from a faculty member in the program (Tell him/her what courses you are interested in taking and when you took the course; candidates need to have confirmed that they earned a B+ or better in that course.)
  • Turn in the completed application to any Tutorial Services office.
  • The staff in Tutorial Services will log the application and then send it to our department chair (or his designee) so sign off on your application and send it back to Tutorial Services.
  • Staff in Tutorial Services will determine if the applicant can then be hired. If so, then the staff will generate the appropriate contract and will contact the tutor to complete some hiring paperwork. This can usually be accomplished within a couple of days.
